The Detroit Public Schools announced today that it will spend $49.4 million to upgrade technology throughout the district. The investment, funded through federal stimulus dollars, will provide 40,000 netbook laptop computers and more than 5,000 desktop computers, the DPS’ emergency financial manager, Robert Bobb, said in a statement.
